Meet Nerida Wilder
Hello and welcome!
I’m Nerida Wilder, children’s book author, storyteller, and ocean dreamer. Ever since I can remember, I’ve been captivated by the sea—the rhythm of the waves, the magic of ocean creatures, and the sense of adventure that comes with exploring new horizons. That love inspired me to create the Nala the Sea Turtle series, a collection of whimsical picture books that invite children to dive into a world of kindness, courage, and wonder.
Through Nala’s adventures, I want children to see the beauty of the ocean, learn the value of friendship, and discover that even the smallest voices can make a big difference. Each book is written with a heart full of imagination and a gentle message—perfect for story time, bedtime, or classroom reading.
My passion for storytelling is also deeply connected to my love for travel and exploration. In addition to writing, I run a travel agency where I help families, couples, and groups create extraordinary journeys and unforgettable memories. Just like in my books, travel for me is about discovery—whether it’s exploring sandy beaches, immersing in new cultures, or finding joy in the little moments along the way.
When I’m not writing or planning adventures, you’ll usually find me walking along the shore, collecting seashells, or dreaming up new stories for Nala and her friends. Every character, every page, and every ocean wave carries a piece of my heart and my hope: that these stories spark curiosity, encourage kindness, and remind children (and parents) that the world is full of wonder waiting to be discovered.
